Some activities on the property

  • Explore the farm and enjoy the panoramic views;
  • Discover the rainforest grove;
  • Contemplate in the rainforest shelter;
  • Watch cattle cell-grazing, see calves;
  • Wine tasting;
  • Tour the cabinet timber plantation;
  • Learn about bush regeneration;
  • Enjoy three streams, two of which flow from springs which originate on the property;
  • Birdwatching;
  • See platypus and kangaroos;
  • Laze on your own private verandah in a hammock, sampling our wine and gazing out over the forest or reading a book from our collection;
  • Go on a night walk: see glow worms, owls and fluorescent fungi;
  • Star gazing;
  • Play table tennis in the rainforest shelter, or practise your basketball skills near the farmstay.

Some activities close by

  • Walk into Whian Whian National Park and the Big Scrub Flora Reserve;
  • Whian Whian Falls swimming hole;
  • Visit Rocky Creek dam (Lismore’s major source of water). The bush around the dam has been completely regenerated and features a wide variety of rainforest species. There are free BBQs, areas of grass for ball games, board walks and a walk along the dam wall and a great kids’ playground;
  • Day and night wildlife tours run by Vision Walks.  See nocturnal animals using “Night Vision Goggles”;
  • Minyon Falls;
  • Dunoon Club: visit Mayfields restaurant, enjoy local bands, kids playground;
  • The Channon: visit the restaurant at the Channon Tavern, and the famous Channon Market (second Sunday of each month): for local produce, craft, music, delicious food and kids activities such as face painting, candle making, bungy trampolines and a jumping castle and playground;
  • Yoga classes: Dunoon Hall, Lismore.

Some activities a little further afield

  • Lismore (30 minutes). There are fantastic restaurants and cafes in Lismore featuring a range of food including organic, vegan, French, Indian, Italian, Thai and Chinese. The Northern Rivers Pub is great to visit with children as it has an outdoor eating area with a playground and a supervised kids room. For sweets try “The Chocolate Bar” for divine locally made chocolates. Lismore also has two shopping centres, churches, a movie theatre, live theatre and live music and a public art gallery and library;
  • Nimbin: art galleries, Djanbung Gardens Permaculture village, restaurants;
  • Protestors Falls. The first “eco-blockade” in the world was held here (in 1979) to save the Terania Creek rainforest from logging;
  • Nightcap National Park: World Heritage rainforest with some great short and long bushwalks;
  • Crystal Castle;
  • Mullumbimby and Brunswick Heads townships;
  • Eltham: a village on the way to Ballina. Have a drink and dinner at the famous “Eltham Pub”;
  • Markets every weekend in different locations: Bangalow, Lismore, Mullumbimby, Lennox Head, Byron Bay, Nimbin;
  • Farmers Markets: Lismore, Bangalow, Byron Bay;
  • Organic Markets: Lismore;
  • Byron Bay: beach, surfing, diving, shopping, cafes, live music and shows, alternative therapies;
  • Macadamia Castle: great for kids;
  • Ballina: Northern Rivers Art Gallery, Sea Silks Gallery, beach, shopping, water-slide;
  • Lennox Head: Lake Ainsworth and restaurants, cafes and shopping in the village.
